Pets in Animal Shelters.

As you probably hear frequently if you are interested in pets is that you should consider getting your next pet from an animal shelter. It is a good piece of advise if it is possible for you. There are so many animals waiting in shelters to get a forever home.

We already have four pets in our household and that is enough for my family. My father just adopted a year old kitten from a shelter and he is really enjoying him. He named him Buddy. My father lives alone and Buddy is proving to be a very good companion. In my opinion pets are great for older people that live alone. An older pet especially may be a good addition because they are less likely to be running around getting into things. Pets slow down as they get older just like people.

If you are considering adopting a pet from a shelter there is one particular place I have found to be the best place to check first. Petfinder.com. They have listings of shelters all over the country and wonderful descriptions and most of the times pictures of pets that are looking for homes. To visit this terrific website go to:

Good luck in your pet search!
Donna
